LRJ's reviews:
“Unbelievable talent!”
- My Texas Music
With his sophomore release entitled The Hang
Over, LRJ is making his mark on the rap scene.
With hits like Get Up Off Me, Filthy,
and Ain’t Nothin’ 4 A Steppa,
this LP is sure to be a classic. LRJ’s new CD
has many other hits and special guest features that
include: Say Whut, which is the first
single off of the album, that features Ace Deuce &
E-Rock (5th Ward Boys). This song is a huge club banger
that will have you hooked and loving every minute of
it. Also, The Old’ Hood, featuring
the 3 time Houston Press Award winning group Drop Trio,
is a politically-live jazz band recording that makes
a strong statement about today’s youth, society,
and old neighborhood ways.
Other special guest features include: The Southern
Gladiators, Lil’ Deezy, Slimm L.O.C., Tony Rain,
and many others. So if you are looking for something
new that will keep your attention from track 1 to 17,
then The Hang Over is the CD for you.
LRJ is currently planning a tour for the rest of 2004
and most of 2005. Just as last year, LRJ will be performing
at the SXSW Music Convention in Austin, TX and many
other venues throughout this year and the following.
Being a performer, songwriter, and producer LRJ has
many skills that will allow him to succeed in this industry
for a long time to come!
In the eyes of many, music is something that they like
to listen and dance to. But for Leon Roberson Jr. a.k.a.
LRJ, music is not only a career it’s a way of
life. For LRJ, that life began on the rugged Eastside
of Houston, TX. Throughout all of the adversities, LRJ
attended the Art Institute of Houston where he studied
video production, audio engineering, and script writing.
LRJ graduated from the Art Institute of Houston in June
of 1999.
In 1999, LRJ had a debut single entitled, Mentally
Gentally Help Me Lord. The single was available in retail
stores through limited release and sold out. In June
of 2000, he released his second single T-E-X-A-S, which
received local airplay and also sold out. In 2002, under
Cinque Entertainment, LRJ released his debut album,
Not of This World which sold over 2000 albums in local
retail, Internet, and underground street sales. Because
of that album, LRJ received street credibility as well
as commercial success. LRJ then became a well-known
writer, producer, and radio DJ for Houston’s own
90.1 KPFT.
In 2003, LRJ began to receive airplay on national and
college radio, which nominated him for a performance
at the world renowned SXSW Music Convention in Austin,
TX. LRJ performs at many venues throughout Texas, Louisiana,
Florida, etc. and maintains a solid fan base. In 2004
look for LRJ’s new CD entitled, The Hang Over.
This album features other artists such as Drop Trio,
Ace Deuce, E-Rock of the 5th Ward Boys, Slim LOC, Lil’
Deezy, the Southern Gladiators, and more! LRJ has many
complete albums ready to distribute, so always check
